Safe Spaces do not claim to be experts in all facets of church-related abuse, or a one-stop shop which suits everyone’s individual needs.
There are many survivor-led support groups and organisations across the UK with lived experience and understanding of the considerable impact that church-related abuse can have on survivors. Here are some links to other organisations who may be able to provide you with additional or alternative sources of support.
Survivors Voices – A survivor led group offering a range of services, including peer support, education and training, activism and research.
House of Survivors – A Survivor led group campaigning for change and to get the voices of survivors heard any those in positions of power within the Anglican Church.
There are many mental health support services available if you are struggling or in crisis, who can help stabilise and support you when you feel you cannot cope alone. There is never any shame in reaching out for help when you need it.
Safe Spaces – As well as our normal hours, Safe Spaces operate an out of hours helpline between 1700-2100 Monday to Friday, 0900-1300 Saturdays, and 1300-1700 on Sundays.
Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) – Helpline and webchat operating 5pm – Midnight Daily
CALM also offer a wealth of resources for suicidal thoughts and mental health support, articles and interviews with mental health ambassadors and opportunities to get involved with fundraising.

Samaritans – Samaritans offer a safe place for you to talk 24/7. They offer a confidential support for people experiencing feelings of distress, despair, or suicidal thoughts. They also offer a self-help app that can help you manage and understand your feelings.
